Oh, The Clutter

Statement: This triptych is titled, "The Hunt". All images were found via Google, and were then cut and pasted together using Adobe Photoshop CS6.

This piece depicts a bit of a story, an adventure being had. Two familiar pals soaring all over, after their prey, and meeting many things along the way. This piece signifies the love of excitement, and a healthy imagination, Calvin and Hobbes being the clear inspiration. The way the two perceive things is what makes them so extraordinary, as it is with just about anything. This is then commentary that, in life, it is important to allow ourselves to diversify the way we look at things, since if we don't, we run the risk of getting bored, or worse, apathetic.

  1. Again, I just really love the colors here! And it's not just the colors, all the different pieces you put together just look good together.

  2. I would agree. The color scheme makes the piece come together as a cohesive whole. Color theory is a wide subject. Almost too wide for this comment! I see however a variation on the red/blue/yellow primary color build, which may explain how it pops out easily. Colors the eye is most familiar with.

Visually very pleasing to look at. There is a subtle crossover of real elements (words on the page) with the graphic which make it an interesting series of panels. The only thing I would note that in a narrative, it is usually my wish to see the character(s) in question front in center. However, this is unique, as it takes a more 'Where's Waldo' strategy to its build. I think large sized, I understand now that the characters can be this small and still have the story work. And how the blurriness fits in.

    Overall, nicely done.
